Homicide Fugitive from Robert Lee Had Been on the Run for 6 Years

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Local law enforcement on Tuesday morning arrested a fugitive homicide suspect who had been on the run for six years.

According to the Sweetwater Police Department, on Nov. 14, 2016, Jaicee Torres of Robert Lee, was involved in a three-vehicle accident at West Broadway and FM 1544. Investigators determined Torres was traveling eastbound and rear-ended a vehicle, driven by Jenny Reyes.  The crash resulted on one death. 

The vehicle driven by Reyes was pushed into the westbound lane and hit by another vehicle traveling westbound. During the investigation, it was determined that Torres was distracted while driving. She was indicted on one charge of Negligent Homicide.

Following the indictment, Torres avoided apprehension for six years according to Sweetwater Police. 

The Sweetwater Police Department said they would like to thank the agencies that assisted in this case and arrest, including San Angelo Police Department, El Paso Police Department, and the Coke County Sheriff’s Office.

Torres was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Apr. 18, 2023 at 5:36 a.m.
