SAN ANGELO— A Midland man has been indicted in Tom Green County after being arrested for possessing nearly 10 pounds of marijuana.
Camron Dairshawn Meyers, 27, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for possession of marijuana, greater than five pounds but less than or equal to 50 pounds. According to court documents, on August 4, 2022, an investigator was on patrol in his marked Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle and observed a white Dodge Charger traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on South U.S. Highway 87.
Radar indicated the white Dodge to be traveling at 81-mph in a 60-mph zone in addition to the posted construction zone. The investigator conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South U.S. Highway 87 and Jones Road. There, he met with the defendant, Meyers, and discovered him to have an active warrant out of Ector County.
The investigator placed Meyers under arrest and conducted an inventory of the vehicle where a blue suitcase was discovered. The suitcase was found to have approximately nine pounds, in nine separate vacuumed sealed bags of marijuana inside.
Meyers was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility for possession of marijuana >5lbs.<=50 lbs. and posted $35,000 bond on August 5, 2022.
