Methed Up 36-year-old Indicted for Assaulting Underaged Girls

SAN ANGELO— A 36-year-old San Angelo man has been indicted on four counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of Manufacture/Delivery of Meth after investigators say he assaulted two minor girls and smoked meth with them for days.

Colin Blanek has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury on four counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, on November 5, 2022, a concerned parent reported to the Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office that his 14-year-old daughter had run away from home and was missing. The Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation but was unable to locate the missing child.

Late in the evening on the same day, the sheriff’s office in Schleicher County received information that the missing child had logged into her Snapchat account and that the account was “GPS pinging” at a residence located on the 6400 block of Chalimar Road in San Angelo.

The next day on November 6, 2022, a deputy with the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence on Chalimar Road and located the missing child and Colin Blanek inside. Blanek identified himself with his name and date of birth. When the deputy asked Blanek where the other girl was, he replied with its complicated and said she wasn’t at the house. The deputy then transported the original missing child back to a Schleicher County deputy where she was returned home.

On the same day, an investigator was contacted by a deputy who stated the missing child from Schleicher County had made an outcry of sexual assault and that it occurred at the Blanek’s residence. The child victim stated that Blanek raped her multiple times.

The investigator met with the child victim at Shannon Hospital where a SANE exam and a toxicology exam were conducted. The victim told the investigator that Blanek sexually assaulted her and another girl several times at his residence on Chalimar Road. The victim also said the Blanek took or kept her underwear and sweatpants and that Blanek was 36 years old and knew that she was under the age of 17. This victim also stated that the other girl was Blanek’s girlfriend.

On November 9, 2022, a forensic interview was conducted with the child victim at Hope House in San Angelo, Texas. The child claimed that she had been communicated with the other girl on social media. The other girl and Blanek allegedly drove to Eldorado to pick up the child victim at 5:00 a.m. and then drove her back to Blanek’s residence.

At the house, Blanek allegedly smoked methamphetamine with both girls. Then, the child victim stated that Blanek raped her and the other girl several times throughout the day. The victim recounted seven times between both her and the other girl. Blanek and both underage girls also allegedly smoked methamphetamine through the day as well.

Also on November 9, 2022, investigators wrote a search warrant for the property located on the 6400 block of Chalimar Road. Deputies executed the search warrant and located Blanek and the other girl leaving the property together in a truck. Blanek and the other girl were detained, and it was learned the other girl Blanek raped was under the age of 17 as well. Deputies also located a quantity of methamphetamine on top of Blanek’s bed and several glass meth pipes and a butane lighter were located in the residence as well.

The investigator conducted an interview with Blanek where he allegedly admitted to having meth inside the residence and also allegedly admitted to driving to Eldorado to pick up the one child victim and taking her to his house. Blanek also allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting both underage minor children at his residence.

Blanek was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and sexual assault of a child. He was then booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on November 9, 2022, and was released on two days later on November 11, 2022, on $360,000 bond.
