SAN ANGELO, TX — An enraged driver led San Angelo Police on a high speed chase on Friday, a report from the San Angelo police confirms.
According to the police, on Friday afternoon, they were dispatched to Jim Bass Ford, 4032 W Houston Harte Expy, in reference to a subject making threats towards the employees and driving erratically through the dealership parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a stop on it. The vehicle actively evaded officers on Houston Harte and then onto Loop 306.
The vehicle struck a cement barrier near S. Bryant and Loop 306 which caused the right rear tire to deflate.
The suspect continued driving north on S. Bryant towards downtown on the bad tire. The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center and the female suspect had to be forced out of the vehicle by police.
Police said the woman driving the vehicle was Christina Hutler, 48, and she was charged with Evading arrest/detention with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of of a controlled substance in penalty group 1/1-B less than 1 gram, and reckless driving.
Group 1 drugs include narcotics like heroin and cocaine, as well as synthetic drugs like Ecstasy. Penalty Group 1-B consists of fentanyl, alpha-methylfentanyl, and any other derivative of fentanyl, according to Texas statutes.
