Tom Green Co. Sheriff's Office Mental Health Unit Recognized

 

SAN ANGELO – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Mental Health Unit was recognized at the Three Rivers Counseling Association Appreciation Luncheon Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023 and awarded the 2023 "Friends of Counseling Award."

On hand to receive the award were Mental Health Sergeant Quentin Williams and Corporal Chris Roque. The men and women of the Sheriff's Office Mental Health Unit respond daily to calls for service for individuals in mental health crises throughout the City of San Angelo and Tom Green County.

In 2022 the five Deputies of the Unit responded to a total of 1,641 mental health calls including 189 attempted suicides and over 800 threats of suicide. The Sheriff's Office is proud of these personnel and commends their service to the citizens of Tom Green County.
