Abilene Woman Dead & Man in Custody After Deadly Dispute Early New Year's Morning

ABILENE – A 35-year-old Abilene woman was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by her boyfriend Early New Year's Day following a domestic argument.

According to Abilene Police, Ashley Rapp was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 3100 block of College St. in South Abilene just before 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Investigators believe a domestic disturbance between the victim and the driver of the vehicle, 45-year-old Robert McClure, took place outside their shared residence shortly before the hit-and-run occurred. Rapp was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.  Her next of kin were notified by police.

McClure fled the scene and was later taken into custody and charged with First Degree Felony Murder. He is being held on $200,000 bond.

Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Abilene Police Department at 325-673-8331.
