SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was arrested Friday morning by the San Angelo Police Department after he allegedly stole packages from a porch on the Loop 306 Frontage Rd.
According to the SAPD, on Nov. 9 at 12:18 a.m., officers with the SAPD arrested 43-year-old Donald Hubbard following a long investigation relating to package thefts. During their investigation police found that Hubbard was taken packages from a front porch on Nov. 25 on the 2800 block of Freeland.
Hubbard was placed in the jail for Class A Misdemeanor Mail Theft charge. During his arrest police also found drugs on Hubbard so he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
"SAPD Detectives have worked vigorously over the last week to identify this individual and
coordinated with the SAPD Anti Crime Unit, Gang Unit, and the Patrol Division to take him
into custody," stated the SAPD's statement. "This arrest is the result of a successful partnership between our residents and the San Angelo Police Department and highlights the value of installing crime prevention technology like the Ring Doorbell and/or security cameras. While this case was ultimately solved due to the hard work of Detective Barker, we are so appreciative to all who assisted in the apprehension of this suspect."
Hubbard's bond is set at $37,500.
