ROBERT LEE – The Coke County Sheriff's Office Friday morning confirmed that although an incident did take place near Paint Creek in Coke County on Thursday, no one was shot or injured.

According to the CCSO, on Thursday, deputies were dispatched to Paint Creek near Lake Spence for the report of a shooting. When they arrived they spoke with witnesses on scene who told the deputies that a man, later identified as 53-year-old Ronald Wooten, had fired multiple rounds from a shotgun in the air.

Deputies were able to locate Wooten and he was arrested for deadly conduct by discharging a firearm. He was taken to Tom Green County and is being held in the jail on a $30,000 bond.

As of Friday morning, the Deputies were unable to locate the gun but will be back at Lake Spence Friday to attempt and locate the firearm.
