Midland Educators Indicted for Failure to Report Abuse

MIDLAND, TX – Four educators were indicted on Thursday by a Midland County grand jury for failing to report a sexual assault.

As previously reported, in Feb. 2022, Adrianne Clifton, Chrystal Meyers, Shelby Hammer, and Todd Freese were arrested after they failed to report a sexual assault that occurred on Trinity School of Midland's campus. Court documents claim that a friend of the victim told multiple teachers including Freese who is the dean of the school.

In Texas it is illegal for school employees not to report abuse or neglect to law enforcement. If educators are aware of abuse then they have 48 hours to contact law enforcement.

Failure to report with the intent to conceal abuse or neglect is a felony if proven.
