SAN ANGELO- The San Angelo Police Department has released more information regarding the social media threat that locked down Lake View High School Thursday.
Around 11:00 a.m. today, Lake View High School went into lockdown after a shooting threat was made on Snapchat. The San Angelo Police Department has released the following information.
On September 22, 2022 around 10:43 a.m., San Angelo police officers were dispatched to Lake View High School in reference to a social media threat regarding a possible school shooting.
Multiple officers quickly responded to Lake View and began to secure both the interior and exterior of the school with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety.
The San Angelo Police Department and Lake View Staff worked in conjunction with each other to ensure everyone’s safety while students were being released to their parent/guardians.
Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division arrived on scene to assist and are currently investigating the incident.
San Angelo police would like to clarify that there was not a shooting at the school and that there are no injuries associated with this incident.
The San Angelo Police Department and San Angelo Independent School District continues to highly encourage anyone with information regarding possible threats to our schools and students to contact the Police Department directly with their concerns so we can address them accordingly.
