San Angelo Man Takes Plea Deal for Lewd Assault of a Child

 

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man has signed a plea deal that will send him to prison for sexual assault of a child.

According to the indictment, on August 20, 2020, David Alexander Zapata, did knowingly and intentionally sexually assault a child who was then younger than the age of 17.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Zapata will be sentenced to five years in prison and the judge has signed the plea deal. Sexual assault of a child is a second-degree felony that carries a punishment of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
