DPS: Uvalde Park Shooting Thursday Likely Involved Teen Gang Members

 

UVALDE – Authorities in Uvalde say a shooting in Memorial Park there was likely gang related and involved teenagers.  

Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety say this incident occurred less than four months from when a mass shooting killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday, May 24. Another seventeen students and teachers were wounded.

There are two minor victims with unknown injuries that have been transported by helicopter to a San Antonio hospital, Uvalde Police Officers answered a call to the Memorial Park area around 5 p.m. Thursday,

The reporting adds that a third minor has been declared a suspect in connection with the shooting and is being sought. Their identity is known to officials, but has not been released publicly.

Police now say four individuals are in custody and being questioned about the shooting.
