Former Brownwood Juvenile Supervision Officer Convicted of Lewd Assault of a Child

BROWNWOOD – A former juvenile supervision officer in Brownwood was convicted last week on two counts of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship.

On August 11, 2022 25-year-old Cailey Laughard was convicted on two counts of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship with a person in custody in Brown County. Laughard was sentenced to 45 days in jail, 10 years deferred adjudication, and a $1,000 fine. She will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Laughard’s conviction comes from an investigation by the Inspector General office. In January 2019, there were allegations of misconduct by an employee at TrueCore Behavioral Solutions who is a contract care facility in Brownwood for youth.

In January 2020, Laughard was booked in the Tom Green County Jail for sexual assault of a child and continuous sexual intercourse with a juvenile in a facility.

Total BS. A child in custody, molested again and again, over a considerable period of time, gets 45 days in jail? That bitch needs 20 years in prison, no early release. We need to build pedo- prisons that can house them all for a very long time, or let them opt for extermination so we'd all be better off.
