Violent Fugitive Wanted for Assaulting a Cop & Strangling a Family Member Captured in Grape Creek Last Week

 

SAN ANGELO – A violent fugitive wanted in two Texas counties was captured in Tom Green County last week.

According to the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, July 21, 2022, the Warrants Division of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office developed information that a wanted felon from an outside jurisdiction was currently staying in Tom Green County. 

The suspect was identified as Richard Danos, 40 years of age.  Danos was wanted out of Archer County for Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant/Evading Arrest, as well as Fail to Identify, and three other warrants. 

He also was wanted out of Brazoria County for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and additionally, he had a Parole Warrant related to an original charge of Assault Family Violence - Strangulation. 

Deputies with the Warrants Division were able to develop a location for Danos.  Due to the severity of the original charges related to the warrants, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team was activated. 

Danos was located and safely arrested after leaving a residence in Grape Creek.  Danos was transported to the Tom Green County Detention Center and booked in. 

Staff from the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted Tom Green County Deputies in this operation.
