SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Police Department has issued a statement regarding the shooting Friday night at the Walmart Supercenter on West 29th Street.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 9:06 p.m., San Angelo Police were dispatched to 610 West 29th Street regarding a shots fired call. Officers were told that the shots were fired inside the Wal-Mart and the suspects had been seen running away from the store through the parking lot.

Once officers arrived on scene, it was learned that nobody was injured inside the store and a perimeter was immediately established in the area in an attempt to locate the suspects. Through watching surveillance footage, it was discovered that two suspects had fled the scene in a dark colored passenger car and it was believed that they were no longer in the area.

Watching surveillance footage, it was observed by officers that one of the suspects produced a firearm and shot into the jewelry display case. Then, one of the suspects removed jewelry from the case and both ran from the store.

SAPD's Criminal Investigation Division arrived on scene and assisted officers with the investigation. Upon further investigating, officers were able to identify both suspects and located the vehicle at the 100 block of North Malone Street. Officers detained one of the suspects, 19-year-old Brandon Lewis at this location and were able to located the second suspect, 21-year-old Andre Reyna, at a Northside Apartment Complex.

Lewis was released pending further investigation and Reyna was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on July 23, 2022 and charged with burglary of a building and deadly conduct.
