ABILENE – An Abilene man was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison after he was charged federally for having media that featured lewd images of children.
According to the Abilene Police Department, on July 8, 2022, 37-year-old Alden Brent Cooper was indicted in the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Texas) for the offense of US 18 Sec 2252 (A)(a2) Knowingly Receiving or Distributing Child Pornography. Cooper was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison.
This arrest stems from an investigation involving multiple agencies that began in April 2021, when a tip was received from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children Cyber tip line. Subsequent investigation led to a search warrant being executed at Cooper's residence, where several devices were retrieved.
The Abilene Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Texas DPS Investigation Division, and the Taylor County Sherriff's department for assisting this investigation.
Cooper has other charges pending that have been submitted to the Taylor County District Attorney's Office that stem from this investigation.

Any and all pedophiles that get convicted and sentenced to prison should have their twig and berries surgically removed. Period, no exceptions. If we enacted this into law, I'd be willing to wager we'd see a decline in kid diddlers.
