Odessa Police Respond to a Report of Student with a Gun

 

ODESSA – A student attending summer school in Odessa was found to be in possession of a firearm Monday.

The Odessa Police Department and Ector County Independent School District received a tip that a student going to summer school at Bonham Middle School may have had a gun.

According to reports, ECISD school leaders and police responded and found the student who was in possession on a firearm. Police think the student brought the gun to school to show other students and as of right now there is no indication that he was going to hurt anyone.

The student has been charged with possession of a weapon in a prohibited place and will received disciplinary action from the Ector CISD.

The Ector County Independent School District has thanked the officers and campus leaders for finding the student so quickly and taking him into custody.
