Lewisville Man Indicted in Tom Green County for Lewd Assault of a Child

SAN ANGELO- A Lewisville man has been indicted in Tom Green County for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to court documents, on January 4, 2021, an investigator employed with the San Angelo Police Department read a CPS intake form and personally witnessed a forensic interview where a child alleges that she had been sexually assaulted by a subject, identified as Byron James Bowie.

During the interview, the child victim alleges that on November 15, 2020, Bowie transported her to his trailer house located within the San Angelo city limits. The child victim says that is where the sexual assault took place.

Investigators spoke with Bowie in a voluntary interview where Bowie allegedly said he brought the child, who he believed to be 13 or 14 at the time, to a residence within San Angelo and sexually assaulted her.

Bowie was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on March 7, 2022 and was released that same day on $50,000.00 bond. Bowie may not have contact with the victim.
