ABILENE – An Abilene man has been charged with murder in the brutal abuse death of his son.

According to the Abilene Police Department, 29-year-old Raymond Medina was arrested Tuesday on an unrelated family violence warrant.  While he was in jail, the infant's mother took the child to the hospital where authorities were called to the suspicious death of an infant.

Investigators believe the cause of the infant's death was severe abuse.

A murder warrant was issued Thursday for Medina and he was charged with First Degree Felony Murder in the death of his infant son.  Medina's bond was set at $2 million.  He remains in the Taylor County jail.
