San Angelo Man Arrested After Two Small Children Made an Outcry of Deviant Abuse

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man was arrested on Wednesday after allegations of child abuse.

According to court documents, on Jun. 9 at 5:13 p.m., officers with the San Angelo Police Department arrested Luis Cantu, 67, of San Angelo, for continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

An arrest warrant was issued for Cantu after authorities received a Child Protective Services report alleged that he had sexually assaulted two children from the time of Aug. 2009 and Oct. 2021.

The report claimed that the two children were ages 12 and 6.

When asked about the allegations police say Cantu acknowledged that in the past he had watched the children alone but denied the accusations of the assault.

Cantu's bond is set at $250,000.
