SAN ANGELO – An Odessa man has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for harassment of a public servant after he spit on an officer.
According to court documents, on February 8, 2022, a San Angelo police officer responded to Fat Boss Pub, located at 114 South Chadbourne, call regarding an unwanted subject. When the officer arrived, she observed a visibly intoxicated individual who was swaying and had a strong odor omitting from his person. The officer asked the man several times for his name to which he continued to say “Lura”.
The man was placed under arrest for being in a public place while intoxicated. While en-route to the jail, the man allegedly began to spit through the vehicle cage at the officer. The man was identified as Jesse Montes Hernandez.
Hernandez was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on February 8, 2022, for harassment of a public servant and is being held on $15,000.00 bond.
Harassment of a public servant is a 3rd degree felony which carries a possible punishment of 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.

I hope the jerk gets some time but he wont. He'll get a small fine and a short probation after he promises to be good.
If a cop spit on a prisoner there would be national news coverage and riots in the streets.
