San Angelo Man Sentenced to Over a Decade in Prison for Brutal Assault of a Teen

 

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man was sentenced to over a decade in prison on Wednesday morning for raping a teenage girl.

According to court documents, on May 11, Ray Anthony Rodriguez, 41, pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child. In the deal Rodriguez was sentenced to 12 years in prison. 

Rodriguez was originally arrested for the charge on Jul. 16, 2021 after a child made an outcry of sexual assault.

The teen claimed that on or around Aug. 14, 2019, Rordiguez had penetrated her sexual organ with his finger and sexual organ.

At the time of the assault the teen was 16-years-old and Rodriguez was 38-years-old.

Rodriguez was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on the date of the arrests and never made his $60,000 bail.

Now he will spend the next decade in a Texas prison.
