Convicted Perv Sent Back to Prison for Failing to Register

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday morning for failing to register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, on May 5, Julian Martinez III, 32, of San Angelo, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender annually for life in exchange for four years in the Texas State Prison. 

It was learned that Martinez had not registered after Tom Green County Constables were called to the Koberlin Apartments in Oct. 2021 for an eviction. In the peace officer's report it claims that Martinez was evicted from the home and refused to leave.

While serving Martinez a criminal trespassing warning, it was learned that he was ultimately wanted for failing to register. He was then arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. Since his arrest, on Oct. 26, Martinez has remained in the jail.

Now he will be sent to back to prison, a place he is very familiar with. Martinez was originally convicted of sexual assault of a child in 2009. Records show that he raped a 13-year-old girl. For this crime he was sentenced to four years in prison.

Once he was out Martinez failure to register the first time. This offense occurred in 2014. For his first failure to appear he was sentenced to six years in prison. Now he will return to the pokie for the third time. 

He will get credit off of his sentence for time served in the Tom Green County Jail.
