San Angelo Speedway Murderer Returns to Testify in Unrelated Infamous Murder Trial

SAN ANGELO – The man responsible for the San Angelo speedway murder was brought back to Tom Green County on Friday ahead of the Garry Jennings murder trial.

According to the court documents, on Apr. 29, 2021, Robert Miller, 50, of San Angelo was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility for a Bench Warrant.

Miller is currently serving a 38-year prison sentence for smothering his wife, Naomi Miller, to death and then burying her at the former San Angelo Speedway.

Although Miller and his co-defendant LuDonna Yoder have already been sentenced, Miller has been brought back to San Angelo to testify in the murder trial of Garry Jennings.

Jennings is accused of helping his son, daughter-in-law, and friend beat, kill, and hide the body of Eric Torrez. Jennings' son, Stephen, was sentenced to life in prison in Dec. 2021.

The jury trial for Jennings is scheduled to begin on May 6. A plea deal is on the table but details are very vague as of now.

Also it is unclear what Miller was called to the trial to testify about. The two are not directly involved in the murder case and he was not brought in for the Stephen Jennings trial.

The only connection on paper that the two have is their time spent together in the Tom Green County Detention Facility.
