San Angelo Man Indicted for Abusing a Child for Over a Year

 

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for the continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

According to court documents, San Angelo police received information from a school counselor who received a handwritten note from a child victim alleging that Jose D. Ramos has been sexually assaulting them.

Investigators witnessed a forensic interview of the victim who stated that on or about April 15, 2020, Ramos began using his mouth to contact the child’s sexual organ and that the last time the victim could remember being assaulted was on September 30, 2021.

During a non-custodial interview, investigators spoke with Ramos who stated on April 15, 2020, he had begun having his mouth on the child’s sexual organ and stated the last time he assaulted the child was on September 30, 2021. Ramos also stated that his mouth came into contact with the child’s sexual organ about twice every month.

A warrant was issued for Jose D. Ramos who was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on October 5, 2021. Ramos is currently an inmate at the detention facility and is being held on $150,000.00 bond.
