WARNING: Be on the Look Out for Counterfeit $20 Bills

 

ALPINE, TX- The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office is dealing with several called regarding fake money.

The sheriff’s office in Brewster County has had several calls regarding fake $20 bills used in local businesses. The counterfeits are $20 bills with the word “MONEY” printed on them.

Brewster County sits three counties away to the southwest of Tom Green County.

The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office has informed the public that if you encounter or receive any counterfeit money to contact them right away at 432-837-5960.

Ah.... but the world is literally overrun with idiots. As far as those who accept them, these store clerks, often dealing with a line of customers, trying to do their job quickly, can easily look at nothing more than the number on the corner, throw it in the register and make change. I seldom examine the bills I receive as change and could find myself passing a fake one, thereby making me one of your idiots.
