FBI and ATF Called Into Ector County Courthouse After Pipe Bomb Discovered

 

ODESSA, TX – The Ector County Courthouse was shut down on Thursday afternoon after workers discovered what is believed to be a pipe bomb.

According to multiple reporters, on Apr. 7 at around 7:45 a.m., deputies with the Ector County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the courthouse for the report of a situation involving an explosive device. 

The FBI and ATF have been called into the county. This investigation will be taken over by the federal government. 

Odessa Police were able to disarm the bomb by hitting it with a high-pressure water device. 

There is currently a person of interest but it is unknown if anyone has been arrested at this time.
