ABILENE – A car matching the description of the one seen fleeing the scene of a bank robbery in Abilene on Tuesday morning has been located.
This morning, Abilene police responded to a bank robbery at a Chase Bank located at Rebecca Lane and Buffalo Gap Road at 9:30 a.m. A man walked into the bank and displayed a weapon. He demanded money and fled the scene with an unknown amount.
The suspect vehicle was stopped in Merkel at 10:30 a.m. and the driver was brought back to Abilene.
The Department of Public Safety and Abilene Police Department Surveillance, Apprehension, and Tactics Team located the vehicle.
