Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Announces Traffic Enforcement Results

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the February mission to make the roads safer was a success.

According to the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, in the month of February 2022, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office participated in the Select Traffic Enforcement Program and Commercial Motor Vehicle STEP. 

Tom Green County Deputies conducted 165 traffic stops.  During these traffic stops, Deputies took 96 enforcement actions for speeding, 32 intersection violations, and 38 other infractions. 

Four arrests were made, including one felony arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1.  Additionally, three wanted subjects were arrested.  These individuals had a combined total of fifteen outstanding warrants. 

"The Tom Green County sheriff's Office is dedicated to making the highways in our county a safer place to drive," stated the TGCSO in a press release. "We want everyone to remember to drive at a safe speed, do not follow too closely to other vehicles, and minimize distractions."

This program is dedicated to highway safety and attempting to lower fatality traffic crashes in our community.

Imagine taking people's money for an action that's not resulted in the harm in anyone's person or property. You can't punish people for hypothetical could happens. When will the department's hold these extorting individuals accountable? Theft is theft.

Funny I didn't even notice this was going on.  Wait, my truck is registered, insured and I drive close to the speed limit.  Wish the police could continue to do this permanently, but understand they don't have the manning.
