San Angelo Man Sentenced for Online Solicitation

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- A San Angelo man has been sentenced after his involvement in an online prostitution sting.

According to court documents, on October 7, 2021, the Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division conducted a solicitation of prostitution operation in San Angelo. A special agent made an undercover profile using a social media site.

A suspect profile titled “Sal” contacted the undercover officer and agreed to pay a fee for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts. The suspect then acted on this intent by driving to a prearranged location at a set time for the purpose of sexual conduct.

The suspect was detained and identified as David Salis Rios.

In exchange for a guilty plea, Rios has been sentenced to 3-years deferred adjudication and will pay a fine of $750.00.
