UPDATE: Lake View High Deemed Safe Following Bomb Threat

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Lake View High School was evacuated on Thursday morning after a bomb threat was made.

The following is a press released sent out by SAISD on Tuesday Mar. 10, 2022:

San Angelo ISD and Lake View High School were made aware of a bomb threat to the campus and out of an abundance of caution the campus has been evacuated.

District leaders and campus administrators immediately began an investigation in conjunction with the San Angelo Police Department and took immediate action. The investigation is currently on-going. Students and staff are safe.

We ask that parents/guardians please refrain from going to Lake View High School campus as students have been rerouted to Lincoln Middle School. 

Due to this investigation and out of an abundance of caution, Lake View High School students have been dismissed for the day on Thursday, March 10, 2022. 

We take all matters of this nature seriously and will follow procedures outlined in our Student Code of Conduct.

The safety of our students is our first priority. We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website.

UPDATE Mar. 10 12:30 p.m.

SAISD: SAPD & SAFD confirmed safe to enter Lake View building following precautionary evacuation.

Students may pick up belongings 1-4pm today.

UPDATE Mar. 10 1 p.m. 

As an update to the precautionary evacuation at Lake View High School earlier today, March 10, 2022, San Angelo ISD has now received an all clear from the San Angelo Police Department and San Angelo Fire Department who determined there was no threat to the Lake View High School campus.

This morning, Thursday, March 10, 2022, San Angelo ISD and Lake View High School were made aware of a bomb threat to the Lakek View High School Campus. Immediately, district leaders and campus administrators began an investigation in conjunction with the San Angelo Police Department and the San Angelo fire Department, including room-to-room searches.

We appreciate the collaboration with our local law enforcement and first responders. Due to the investigation and out of an abundance of caution, Lake View High School students and staff were evacuated as precautionary measure and dismissed for the day on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Lake View High School will return to their regular schedule tomorrow, Friday, March 11, 2022. We take all matters of this nature seriously and will follow procedures outlined in our Student Code of Conduct. The safety of our students is our first priority.
