Abilene Man Arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor

ABILENE, TX – A 23-year-old Abilene man was arrested on Monday after detectives with APD's cyber crimes unit found evidence that he was attempted to solicit a child on the internet.

According to the Abilene Police Department, on Feb. 28, detectives with the APD arrested 23-year-old Joseph Wesley Bertelson of Abilene for 3rd Degree Felony Online Solicitation of a Minor, and State Jail Felony Sexual Performance by a Child.

Detectives with Cyber Crimes conducted an extensive investigation that led to identifying him for these charges.

This investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending any further victims.
