Theft of a BBQ Trailer Leads Deputies to Major Drug Bust

 

ODESSA, TX – The theft of a BBQ trailer on Sunday led to the discovery of a large gang operation in West Odessa.

According to an Odessa news outlet, on Feb. 20, deputies with the Ector County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a resident in West Odessa for the report of a stolen trailer. 

The caller told dispatch that they had witnessed their BBQ trailer being stolen from their home in South Ector County. The caller followed the alleged thieves to the residence in West Odessa and waited for deputies to arrive.

Search warrants were obtained and executed on the property. During the raid the deputies not only found the BBQ trailer but also 10-15 stolen vehicles from Colorado and Odessa.

Along with the stolen cars, the deputies discovered a stash of marijuana that weighed around 100 pounds. 

Ten suspects been arrested in relation to the crime. It is being reported that multiple members of the group are illegal aliens.
