WATCH: San Angelo Man Indicted for Shooting 1 Victim and Kidnapping 3 Women

By James Bouligny, Feb 16, 2022

SAN ANGELO, TX- A San Angelo man was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for using a firearm to kidnap three women.

On November 9, 2021, Dwayne Tatum Jr. or Dwayne Evans and Victim 1 were at an apartment located at 2220 West Twohig Avenue and were having a dispute. Victim 2 and Victim 3 came to assist with the disagreement when Evans held the three victims at gunpoint and did not allow any of them to leave the apartment.

Victim 2 and 3 witnessed Evans discharge the handgun at the feet of Victim 1 then forced all three into a vehicle. Evans had the gun in the Victim 1’s back and directed Victim 2 to drive towards US HWY 87. Evans threatened Victim 1 saying, “You’re going to die today” and refusing to let Victim 2 stop the vehicle.

Evans and Victim 1 began struggling with the firearm as they approached the intersection of US HWY 87 and Apache Lane. Evans then discharged the firearm, hitting Victim 1. Victim 2 stopped and pulled over on Apache Lane and Victim 2 and Victim 3 exited, leaving Evans and Victim 1 inside the vehicle.

Evans took possession of the vehicle while still holding the firearm. He then took Victim 1 to Shannon Medical Center, located at 120 East Harris where she was released from the vehicle and was treated for two gunshot wounds.

Dwayne Evans barricaded himself into an apartment where he was eventually taken into custody.

Sheriff Nick Hanna provided updated from the scene which you can read HERE.

You can watch the video of Dwayne Evans getting arrested by police below.

Dwayne Evans was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on November 9, 2021 and is still an inmate being held on $375,000.00 bond.

Dwayne Evans' actions in this incident do absolutely nothing to corroborate any claim that he "matters".
