ABILENE, TX – Three people were shot on Tuesday night on the northside of Abilene.
According to the Abilene Police Department, on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at approximately 11:31 p.m., officers with the APD responded to an injured subject call at an apartment complex located in the 300 block of North Mockingbird Lane. Multiple calls were received about injured persons at this location.
Upon arrival, responding officers located three shooting victims. Emergency medical services also responded and transported all three shooting victims to a local hospital.
The three shooting victims are identified as follows:
- Shooting victim #1 – 35-year-old Hispanic male
- Shooting victim #2 – 42-year-old white male
- Shooting victim #3 – 40-year-old white female
Shooting victim #1 has succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin notification has been made. This victim has been positively identified as 35-year-old Paul John Delacruz of Abilene. Shooting victims #2 and #3 are being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Major Investigations Bureau are actively investigating this incident.
The Abilene Police Department is actively looking for 35-year-old Brack Earl Daniels who has been identified as a Person of Interest in this investigation. Daniels is presently wanted for charges unrelated to the homicide investigation. Those charges include warrants for Second Degree Felony Burglary of a Habitation, State Jail Felony Evading Arrest, Class A Misdemeanor Assault Family Violence, and Class A Misdemeanor Assault. The total bond for these charges is $80,500.
