San Angelo Woman Sentenced After Admitting Role in Brutal Knife Assault

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 21-year-old San Angelo woman accepted a plea deal on Tuesday afternoon after admitting to the court that she was involved in a knife assault.

According to court documents, on Feb. 1, Jyzharnae Greenwood, 21, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Greenwood was originally arrested in Feb. of last year after her and a group of three other people assaulted two female victims.

Greenwood and one of the others involved allegedly used knives to intimidate a woman while she was restrained.

Greenwood was sentenced to 3 years deferred adjudication and a $1,000 fine. In total Greenwood spent two days in the Tom Green County Detention Facility.

Greenwood has been booked into the TGCDF five times since 2018. Charges included possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license invalid, and now aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Greenwood will now have to complete a 3 year probation that includes fines, community service, and anger management courses.
