SAN ANGELO, TX – A domestic disturbance turned into a robbery on Friday night in west San Angelo.
According to court documents, on Jan. 7, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 2200 block of Glenwood Dr. for the report of a domestic disturbance.
When the officers arrived, they found a female that had been assaulted and was actively bleeding from her right hand. She told officers that she had been thrown to the ground by 27-year-old Courtney Owens. After throwing her down he allegedly stole her Silver Ford F-150.
Officers then spoke with a neighbor. She claimed that she heard commotion while in the living room of her home. After it continued the neighbor went to the front door and heard someone yelling about a truck being stolen.
Another person, whose relationship to the situation is unknown, was contact by SAPD. She informed the officers that she saw Owens get in the truck and drive away.
Owens was later found and arrested near the 1600 block of S. Bryant. During the arrest Owens claimed that he had permission to drive the vehicle and that no argument had occurred.
He was then taken to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with Robbery and Assault. His bond is set at $35,512. As of Monday, Jan. 10, Owens remains in the jail.
