San Angelo Police: Real Estate Robbery Was Inside Job

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- The San Angelo Police Department has released the following statement on the robbery call that occurred at noon on Friday, January 7, 2022.

"On Friday January 7, 2022, at approximately 11:44am, Officers with the San Angelo Police Department responded to a business located at 2868 W Beauregard Ave to a report of an armed Robbery that had just occurred. It was reported that a lone suspect had entered the business and demanded cash. As a result of investigation by responding Officers and Detectives at the scene it was determined that an armed robbery did not occur and an employee had committed an internal theft and reported it as an armed robbery. This investigation is still ongoing and no further information is available at this time. Detective Hill is the Investigator assigned to this case."

Around noon on Friday, SAPD responded to a robbery that occurred at 2868 West Beauregard Avenue. Later at the scene, Sargent Travis Griffith issued a verbal statement to reporters where it was stated that the investigation was ongoing, the public was safe, and there was not a suspect at large.
