Attorney General Investigates Brutal Fatal Shooting in Lubbock Caught on Video

 

LUBBOCK, TX  — The Texas Attorney General announced on Tuesday that his office will be investigating the shooting of Chad Read.

As previously reported, an affair involving the current husband of a Texas district judge ended with the shooting of Chad Read, of Lubbock, in early Nov. Since the shooting, the shooter Kyle Carruth, has not been charged with anything but has been civilly sued by the wife and mother of Read.

Now that word has spread across the country, the Texas Attorney General has decided to investigate the case.

The following is the full statement released by AG Ken Paxton's Office:

The Attorney General of Texas has received repeated inquires as to a criminal investigation of a shooting death referred from Lubbock County, Texas. This shooting has received nationwide media coverage.

Our office has begun a criminal investigation into this shooting. During the pendency of any criminal investigation conducted by our office, we do not comment on the case to protect the integrity of the investigation. Accordingly, we will not be commenting on the facts of this case.

All criminal cases, including this case, must go through the steps of gathering evidence, reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and other actions.
