Coyotes Given Zero Jail Time After Admitting to Human Smuggling

SAN ANGELO, TX – A coyote attempting to smuggle illegal aliens through Tom Green County was placed on five years deferred adjudication probation on Thursday after pleading guilty to human smuggling.

According to court documents, on Dec. 2, Gloria Manzanarez, 26, of Houston, pleaded guilty to human smuggling. In return for the guilty plea, Manzanarez will spend the next five years on deferred adjudication probation and will have to pay a $2,500 fine.

Manzanarez was originally arrested by the troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety in Nov. 2020. She and Noemi Olguin-Herrera were caught trafficking three illegal aliens into Tom Green County.
