San Angelo Man Facing Life in Prison for Lewd Crime

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 41-year-old is facing up to life in prison after a Tom Green County grand jury indictment him for continuously molesting a child for years.

According to court documents, on Nov. 16 at 2:37 p.m., deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested 41-year-old Fernando Moreno for a grand jury indictment that accused him of continuously sexually abusing a child under the age of 14. 

The indictment alleges that Moreno began assaulting the child in Jul. 2008. The molestation continued until Jul. 2017.

During that time period, Moreno had sex with the child multiple times.

The indictment came out on Oct. 15 and a warrant was issued on Oct. 21. He was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on Nov. 16 and was released on a $75,000 bond the following day.

A stipulation with the bond is that Moreno has no have no contact with the victim.

The punishment for a first degree felony is either life or 5-99 years.
