Over a Dozen Illegal Immigrants Found Stuffed in Truck Cab

LAREDO, TX – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents intercepted a tractor trailer human smuggling scheme at the I-35 immigration checkpoint north of Laredo.

The incident occurred during the late morning of Nov. 11, when a tractor-trailer approached the I-35 immigration checkpoint.  During an immigration inspection of the driver and passenger, a service canine alerted prompting agents to refer the driver to secondary inspection.  While searching the tractor-trailer, agents discovered illegal aliens crammed inside the trailer.

A total of 14 illegal aliens from the countries of Mexico and Guatemala were discovered and arrested.  All illegals along with the driver, a U.S. citizen, were taken into custody to be processed accordingly.

Agents also continue to work with other governments, to ensure they deliver a strong message that the borders are not open, and to facilitate the return of their citizens or those with legal status in other countries.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol partners with many local and state law enforcement entities to keep border communities safe. If you see something suspicious, report it by contacting our 24/7 hotline at 1-800-343-1994. Together, we can continue to uphold national security and combat illicit activity.
