Shooting Stirs Up the Blackshear Neighborhood

SAN ANGELO, TX – A man was shot on Monday morning in the Blackshear neighborhood.

At around 10:15 a.m., on Nov. 8, multiple San Angelo Police Officers were dispatched to a home in the Blackshear neighborhood, 500 block of W 17th, for the report of a shooting victim.

The victim was taken to Shannon Medical Center. It is unknown the extent of the victim's injuries at this time. The victim has not been identified but reports on the scene claim the victim is a man.

The shooting caused a stir in the Blackshear neighborhood as a number of residents came out of their homes and onto their front porches. A number of them also drove by the shooting location to check on members of the home.

Police seemed to have found what reporters claim to be shell casings from the shooting. A woman on scene at one point became irate with neighbors a couple houses down. Reporters claim she yelled at the group on the porch something along the lines of "they found the casings" and "that's why you shouldn't play with guns."

The San Angelo Police Department did not give an official statement on scene. At this time it is unknown if anyone was arrested because of the shooting.
