SAPD Reports a 36 Percent Increase in DWIs so Far Over 2020

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – With the holiday season upon us the San Angelo Police Department is urging citizens to think twice before drinking and driving.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, over the Halloween Holiday Weekend, Officers took enforcement action against 17 offenders for various driving while intoxicated offenses with 12 of those occurring during the evening of Saturday and Sunday Morning.

 The SAPD has seen a 42% increase in DWI offenses over the past two years and is currently looking at a 36% increase over the 2020 statistics.  

On Halloween night 13 people were arrested for DWI on Halloween night in Tom Green County.

The SAPD assigns officers on holiday weekends to specifically investigate these offenses to assist patrol in the enforcement of DWI offenses. The SAPD fully investigates every DWI incident and files charges when appropriate.

Oh Matt… Your grammatical skills, capitalization, punctuation, and just writing skills in general continue to be sub par. And now I read this story with the headline that does not even have the correct year associated with it?  Sensationalized journalism should at least be written correctly in my opinion.
