SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was sentenced to prison on Thursday morning after pleading guilty to possession and delivery of a number of different drugs.
According to court documents, on Oct. 21, Mark Rojas, 28, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Rojas was sentenced to five years on both counts but they will run concurrently.
The original arrest occurred on May 19. Officers with the San Angelo Police Department pulled Rojas over in a vehicle near the intersection of 11th and N. Bryant.
During the stop the officers initially discovered 8 grams of methamphetamine, less than one gram of heroin, and 28 grams of Xanax.
The rest of the vehicle was searched and in the trunk officers found a back pack containing a half of a pound of marijuana and a bottle of codeine. Along with the drugs, Rojas had his ID in the bag.
Rojas has remained in the in the Tom Green County Detention Facility since the day of his arrest on a $158,500 bond. He will now spend the next five years in the custody of the Texas Criminal Justice System.
