Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Hosting Trunk or Treat

SAN ANGELO, TX – What is the safest way to celebrate Halloween? Well of course it's with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, on Oct. 30, the TGCSO will be hosting a drive through trick or treat event from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  For many years, the Sheriff's Office has hosted a Trunk or Treat event at the Sheriff's Office parking lot.

As many community events continue to be cancelled due to COVID 19 precautions, the Sheriff's Office has adjusted the event in an effort to reduce potential exposure.  The event will provide a safe opportunity for children to receive candy in a trick or treat style event, without having to exit their vehicles.

This year, the event will be conducted as a drive-thru in the sally port of the old Tom Green County jail on West Harris across from the courthouse.  Parents may drive through the sally port of the jail with their children, and Deputies and Sheriff's Office personnel will hand out bags of candy.

The Sheriff's office will have the line of vehicles form up off of N. Irving St. at the entrance to the sally port.  The line will extend north to College Ave, and west on College Ave. to MLK Drive.  Vehicles exiting the jail sally port will turn west onto Harris Ave.

The Sheriff's Office asks all guests to exercise caution, patience and safe driving habits to help ensure a safe event for all involved.
