Battle of the Baby Daddies Results in a Broken Jaw

SAN ANGELO, TX – An argument between two men who have children with the same woman – and live with her – ended with one in the hospital and one in the Tom Green County Jail.

According to court documents, on Oct. 7, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Food King on Main St. for the report of an assault victim.

When they arrived, the officers spoke with the victim who claimed he had been assaulted at his residence at the Harris Ave. Apartments.

He claimed that as he arrived home from work a roommate, Marcus Brown, 42, approached him demanding an answer for a missing phone charger. In the midst of the explanation, Brown allegedly punched the victim on the left side of his face which knocked him to the ground. 

While the victim laid on his back, Brown pulled out a pocketknife and demanded that the victim give him everything he had. The victim gave brown $80 in cash out of his pocket and then ran out the door. 

Prior to leaving, Brown told the victim to never come back to the apartment or he would be killed.

SAPD units were then sent to the apartment complex to hear Brown's side of the story. Police attempted numerous times to talk to Brown but he refused. In the affidavit, the officers stated that Brown could be heard "hollering" inside the apartment.

The owner of the apartment did speak to police. She told them that she owned the apartment and allowed both of the men to stay there. She also informed the officers that the victim and Brown both have a child in common with her.

Brown was later arrested for aggravated robbery, on Oct. 19, after the victim provided medical records showing that Brown broke his jaw during the attack.

He remains in the Tom Green County Detention Facility on a $75,000 bond.
