Violent Crime Spree Including Shooting & Murder Ends with Arrest

ABILENE, TX –– A couple of days after the body of Adrian Esteban Vizzerra was found lying in the roadway, police have arrested a person of interest in the case.

According to the Abilene Police Department, investigators have identified 29-year-old Seth Blake. The preliminary investigation revealed Blake and the victim were roommates at the time of the murder.

Vizzera's body was found shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Friday at the 100 block of Schaffner Road.

Approximately four hours later witnesses observed Blake on the 600 block of Sycamore shooting a 60-year-old white male.  The victim's identity has not been released, but he is in stable condition at a local hospital.

After the shooting, Blake fled the scene and entered a home nearby. Taylor County court records list Blake's residence on that same block.

When officers arrived at the scene they surrounded the home and attempted to make contact with the suspect.

For hours APD and SWAT Team members attempted to make contact with Blake until they secured a search and arrest warrant.

After "exhausting all other means of communication with Blake," the SWAT Team eventually deployed gas into the home and entered.

Blake was no longer inside the home by the time officers entered the home.

On Saturday, Blake was arrested without incident at a northside hotel and charged with Violation of Parole and Aggravated Assault. Charges have not been filed against Blake in the death of Vizzerra at this time.

Blake was booked into the Taylor County Detention Center.

Anyone with information regarding the Vizzera investigation is asked to contact the Abilene Police Department’s non-emergency phone number at 673-8331 or Abilene Crime Stoppers at 676-8477 (676-TIPS).
