ARLINGTON, TX – A Texas High school was put on lockdown Wednesday morning following an active shooter situation.
Mayor of Arlington, Jim Ross, confirmed that at least two students were shot during the shooting at Mansfield Timberview High School on Oct. 6.
As of now students are still inside the building and police are working to apprehend the suspect.
The campus is on lockdown and law enforcement is asking citizens to avoid the area.
Multiple agencies including the FBI and ATF are on scene.

UPDATE 11:45 P.M.
The Arlington Police Department has confirmed the identity of the shooter as 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins. Simpkins is still at-large and is considered armed and dangerous.
Four students in total has been reported as injured. Police claim that a fight broke out on the second floor of the school which led to Simpkins pulling out the gun and shooting his fellow classmates.
Simpkins is driving a 2018 silver Dodge Charger with license plate PFY-6260. If you see this vehicle please call 9-1-1 immediately.
As of now students are being bussed off campus to meet with their parents at another Mansfield ISD location.
There is no longer a threat at Timberview high school.
