Elementary School Locked Down After Constables Find Meth Nearby

 

SAN ANGELO – Tom Green County Constables seized a quantity of meth and a handgun near Austin Elementary School Wednesday morning during a court ordered move out prompting school officials to temporarily lock down the school.  

On Wednesday September 22, 2021 at approximately 9 a.m. officers from Tom Green County Constable Offices Precinct 1, 2, 3, and 4 executed a Writ of Possession after eviction at 1804 Walnut Street.

Upon entry into the residence, Officers encountered two individuals inside the house. A handgun and an item containing suspected narcotics were observed in the immediate area where the two individuals were located.

The handgun was reported stolen by the San Angelo Police Department and the item was confirmed to contain methamphetamine. Investigators with the Tom Green County Sheriffs office arrived and took control of the criminal investigation.

One individual was arrested and charged with theft of a firearm and manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance 4 grams - 200 grams. 

As a precautionary measure officials with Stephen F. Austin Elementary School were notified and went on lockdown until the scene was secured.
